Blazing Paddles

Founded in 1999, Blazing Paddles (BP) is a coed community team with practice locations in Broward and Palm Beach Counties. The team has won many championships including the 2004 Champion of Champions (over men’s teams) and the 2009 IDBF Community Division World Championship. In 2010, BP members served on the crew that set the World Record for Longest Journey by Dragon Boat, and set the divisional course record in the longest nonstop river race in the world. But for all their accolades this is a very welcoming group. Most of our members came to us with no paddling experience and no better than average fitness. With the help of our coach several have made Team USA.
